Big Girl Panties

So, you know I've been walking, right?

Well, me walking by myself in my neighborhood is something that I never did. never ever. just didn't do it. Brought back too many bad memories and I was a chicken shit.

so, I figured...I'm making all these changes in my life, I may as well keep going.

so I started walking by myself. I put on my Big Girl Panties and just did it.

And I'm enjoying it too. I put my headphones in and off I go, blasting the music at top volume.

Well...........

today I'm walking and this guy starts following me. he was in a dark green car, 4-door. a Ford, I think. and he passed me about 4-5 times...staring at me. so I stared right back, trying to look tough. ya right.

Well, I pulled my phone out, had 911 on speed dial and was pretending to talk the last time he went by me. he stopped after that. He had dark hair and glasses. No license plate number. My bad.

So I was a little scared, I'll admit that. But I was more pissed off than anything. I will not let someone have that control over me ever again. I won't be kept a prisoner in my own home. If I want to walk, I will walk damn it!

So I come home and tell my kid. he convinced me to get my license to carry a concealed weapon.

Now, do ya'll think that's as funny as I do?

Cuz I just don't see me running around with a gun....tho I think it would be fun! ;)

So we shall see what happens. I refuse to let anyone "ground" me either. I'm a Big Girl. If I want to walk...I will walk.

But I just might have a can of mace or something in my pocket, just in case!

OH! OH! Mace, one of those shrieking alarms, a butcher knife!!

Is either one of your doggies able to go walking? If they are like my Heidi no guy wants to get a doggy nose greeting in the crotch.

Oh no, that is not good at all; someone following you...nope not OK. You have to have SOMETHING to protect right away...mace, something.

No one ever accidentally killed someone with a can of mace. A much better choice than a firearm, if you ask me! Plus, you don't have to aim as well!

Hey- better yet. Bring you camera! No mugger would want his picture taken!

That is an excellent idea! Start taking pictures.

Yes, pepper spray or mace or something like that for sure! Not a gun. They might get it away from you and use it on you.

Oh, I just read the comments! Brilliant, Miss Ginger! Take your camera and take a picture of him and his license plate. That's it! I'm going to be sure to have my camera with me all the time now.

Can you tell this has me all discombobulated?
Even if you don't have a camera with you you can pretend your cellphone has the camera function. (Yes, there are those of us who don't have cell phone cameras...) The Bad Man won't know if it does or doesn't.

That is pretty scary. :( Carry pepper spray for someone coming towards you, and a stun gun for someone who's already there (don't want to spray yourself in the face or anything! ;).

If anyone ever does that again, send a pix message to one of your boys or something of the guy's face, too (though I would never have thought of that without Miss Ginger's suggestion!).

You DO NOT need to carry a gun... but you need something. Don't make me come to Ohio and kick pervert ass.

Pepper spray (the kind they sell at REI for bears. It shoots a long way). A gun would be fun? That's strange. That's modern America.

Oh yeah, get your mace, cell phone with the fancy camera, knife, alarm, and make sure your steady when you take that picture.
Ho please!! What are you going to do throw all that stuff at him while he's dragging you into the back of his car? Besides you could never outrun his ass with all that stuff in your pocket.
Get you a gun ho. You can stuff it in your big girl panties.
I promise you, just wave a lil 357 his way and I'm almost positive he will never, ever come back around.

froggie: my dogs can't walk...:(

jacki: i could always throw my phone at h im, i guess!

Mace...yeah for sure.

Walking! You rule.

If anyone ever really scares you don't scream for help, scream about a house being on fire. EVERYONE looks out the window for that, they want to make sure it isn't their own. A woman screaming help....a lot of folks don't want to get involved. If you are convincing enough about the fire, folks will even come out of their houses, which is all you need honestly.

Just telling it like it is said...

Mace is a great idea...I'm not keen on the gun thing...Your right you have a right to work out in your neighborhood...but please be careful.

"Always be aware of your surroundings". No where you are at all times". "I'm in a parking lot in Clarksville, TN". LOL LOL

Seriously, mace is a good idea, and I like Miss Ginger Grant's idea. Take the camera. Next time you see that car, take several pictures. And did you mean you didn't GET the license plate number or he didn't HAVE a license plate?

bean: HAHAHAHA! I forgot all about that! ya, my surroundings...must be aware at all times. I'm in the bathroom brushing my teeth...im in the car driving to the school....im sleeping on the couch!!! ;)
