I finally got outside to walk today.
It's been a while since the weather is not cooperating with me. I walk at work all night long but its not the same thing,ya know?
and why is it I have a job now but still have no money? ;)
and why is Facebook STILL like high school?
It's the same people, the same cliques, the same bullshit...all over again. It's funny, I saw on a commercial last night for that show "Mercy" about a guy who's been in a coma for 10 years and the chick says to him...
"There's this thing called Facebook now. it's about finding all the people in high school and college that you never got to sleep with."
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! how true is THAT??!!!
I mean, it's nice to re-connect with people and check up on them, look at pictures of their families and stuff...but there's still so much bullshit. Friending this person but NOT friending THAT person...or blocking this person and "un-friending" that person.
"Well, I'm just not going to be your friend anymore...so there!"
all the same old bullshit, if you ask me. And the "mean girls" in high school are STILL the "mean girls" today. So sad that people can't grow up. It's enough to almost make you de-activate your account, which I've done a couple times already but always go back for more punishment!! ;) It IS so addicting.
Ok, so I saw "The Invention of Lying" and I loved it. No, not an Oscar winner, but I thought it was funny, and how cute is Jennifer Garner anyway?! and I have a new crush on Ricky Gervais and want fat short snub nosed kids with him...he's too funny. I really get his sense of humor. I know alot of people don't like him, but he's just sarcastic enough and off the wall enough for me...love it.
"Pandorum"....boring. don't' waste your time.
"Smoking aces 2"...ok. meh.
"Gamer" with Gerard Butler. Now, it's very very graphic and violent, but that's right up my alley. I liked it.
"Whiteout"...it was ok. I wouldn't buy it or watch it again, but it was ok.
I don't know when I've ever watched so many movies in my entire life!

I enjoy seeing you on facebook. It seems like facebook usage among my friends has declined a lot. For most of these people, it was their first introduction to social media. They don't blog, tweet, do flickr etc. I guess the thrill is gone.
We don't watch too many movies. We did watch The Hangover based on a recommendation from our son. He saw it in the theater - they didn't card him but he looks 17. Right now I'm catching up on last season of Entourage that's out.
No Facebook except for a portal to poke the boys into CALL YOUR MOTHER! I now have a twitter account to learn about since Gorilla Boy and a friend have a project going involving it. Don't post but am following Adam Savage - le sigh - he of Mythbusters - I'm a geek.
You know my feelings about BookFace. I have absolutely NO interest in staying in touch with most people from high school in college. If someone wants to reach me, they know where they can find me - on my blog.
Besides, I don't want to "hang out" someplace where my boss, mother and father are my "friends".
And, BTW, when I post crap on Facebook, it's just to alert people to read my blog. If you leave comments, or write on my wall or whatever the hell people do - I won't get the message because I NEVER go back and check.
XOXOXOXOXO
I knew a lot of people in high school, being involved in student government and all. Many were not my friends but those who were hung with a variety of cliques. The fun of Facebook is now being able to reconnect with these various friends -- and having them finally get to know one another. Some seemed rather surprised by the fact that they like one another. I wasn't. What made them my friends were their similar characteristics -- even if on the surface they seemed different. And you should have seen the long exchange of messages we had a couple of months ago about the mean girls and how they haven't changed. The folks who unfriended me? They never were friends anyway so I don't sweat it.
I want to see The Invention of Lying. Ricky Gervais cracked me up when he was on the Golden Globes.
I find Facebook a net place to play. My present addiction is Farm Town. As for friends, I've never turned anyone down...even my obnoxious cousin whi I am learning is not as obnoxious as she was 40 years ago..
I hear you on the stupidness of it all and it is so true about the mean girl - they are the tough talking ones that are spineless in my opinion - typically with updates like this "dear (insert any name or company here) thank you for the lack of or too much of (insert any problem here) so now you can (insert any profane activity here)" and the funny thing is they think they are witty...I know too many of this type and frankly I think I am going to unfriend them.
I'm not sure but I was talking with a high school friend tonight and was reminded how much that participated in my success of today...and how truly special my son is....
Dont' let porn be the death of you
which is exactly why I use Facebook to play games more than anything else.
Gamer. Is that the one where he is in jail and has people killed or somethign? I would love to see that movie. The others? I don't think I have even heard about, but I did see Book of Eli Saturday, and I really liked it. It didn't get good reviews, but who gives a fuck, cause I'm the only one that matters, right????????
I read your blog, and that is it...Facebook is bad, and Twitter is worse!
David Dust said it well. I like the intensity of his comment, not the usual. If I owned Facebook I would sell it now before it fades.
facebook is not going anywhere,it's as solid as google at this point.
they made a Smoking Aces TWO?? the first one should have been renamed Smoking Asses because it was pure sh-t.
