AS most of you already know...
I am SO not a "Valentine's Day" kind of girl.
and no, it's not cuz the husband doesn't get me anything, cuz I know that's what you're thinking! ;)
I just happen to think it's one of the stupidest "holidays"...so is "Sweetest Day" which I guess is mostly an Ohio thing.
I think if you love someone, you should tell them every day...not wait around for one day a year to buy them flowers and candy or whatever. it's so commercial. UGH.
So the husband always gets me candy (that he likes!) and always gets me a mushy mushy MUSHY card.
Now, do I seem like a "mushy card" kind of girl to you?
NOPE.
I like FUNNY cards. I don't even BUY mushy cards...for anybody. I buy funny cards.
and I want a FUNNY card in return, cuz I love to laugh, that's why. and I think, after 24 years, he should know that about me by now...but does he get me a funny card? nooooooooooooooooooooooooo..............damn it all. and it just ends up pissing me off to no end!
It just all makes me sick.
BLECH!!! Gag me with a spoon.
and speaking of gagging... ;)!!!!
a friend of mine says she "doesn't do THAT" cuz she has a terrible gag reflex...
I think that's what she should give HER husband for V-Day!!!! ;)
Now if you wanna give me sexual favors, then ok, I like V-Day!!!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhh...............

WTF is "Sweetest Day"???
XOXOXOXO
After reading this will hubs give you the funny card...or the sexual favor..?..or both..? now that would be a VD to remember...so many are talking about VD and it kind of doesnt phase me too much...I get cards from hubs...definitely mushy..but i dont give them..I make cards so sometimes I will give him one of them, but usually I forget..thats bad right..I would give a "favor" instead...I hate store bought cards anyway...
tranny: it's an OHIO thing...October 16th (I think) just like V-Day but in October. STOOOPID.
Honestly, I find it all sort of contrived. We do stuff for the kids and I generally make Art a card, but we never go out on the actual date because it's too crowded. Plus, we go out at least once a month anyway, so it feels more like our regular date night.
Tell your friend she needs to grab it at the base to control the depth. ;)
I have been giving "special gifts" for Valentine's Day for years! You mean to tell me there is a gag reflex? Oh dear. And Jennie is right.
Well I'm thinking that you don't really like VD day, but that you likey sexual favors on valentine's day....
Come think of it they should make a national VD day to stave off STDs just a thought!
Sweetest Day isn't just an OH thing..personally I think that is the dumbest holiday yet!
VDay isn't my thing but if you want a funny card just tell your honey...maybe next year he'll get it right without your reminder! ;)
Well, if that's the case, we both got a great gift today! LOL!
You guys do Sweetest Day there too, huh?
As for the oral sex voucher, does it come with an expiration date? ;-)
Valentine's Day has really become more for kids. The kids at my school have parties and have waaaaay too much sugar, my girls love to make or get me cards, but expect a gift and it was just a lot more fun when I was younger and David and I were totally infatuated with each other. Enjoyed it a lot more when we were new lovers, but now it just seems like just another day, going through the motions. No vouchers for me, thank you very much. He drives me crazy as it is. LOL.
jennie: I told my friend what you said, about grabbing at the base and she said, and I quote, "I aint puttin that shit anywhere NEAR my mouth!" ahhhhh...gotta love it.
BTW - Women who are married to hot husbands are NOT allowed to complain about V-Day. At least you are getting a card from SOMEONE.
Do you know I have NEVER gotten a Valentine's Day card from a man ... EVER?!? Yeah, pretty pitiful.
XOXOXOXOXOXO
"They don't call it a job for nothing, honey." Samantha Jones, S&TC.
I don't buy cards anymore, as that industry was contrived for profit... I do give my wife a gift(almost forgot one year!) for 39 years(married 36)Hope you had a good one- and try to be grateful for anything you get!
Sounds like you and the hubby both have different ideas of showing love and being romantic. Despite the fact that "she should know", you should tell him you prefer funny cards instead of mushy ones. And since you know HE likes mushy cards, you should give HIM the mushy card he desires, even though its not "you". The point of the card is to be about him.
mark: i have told him, and i do get him mushy cards....it works...
i agree with you...the only reason pple still celebrate this day is bcuz some partners take it too seriously n they will remember u not giving them anything...
valentine's day should be everyday
Interesting take on VD ... I kind of go with the flow of the person that I happen to be with at the time. It makes me no nevermind.
I think that 'Sweetest Day' is a regional thing. Great Lake area. But it has been around for longer than I have been alive.
You'd think a '69' would be something to share but if you are really into trying to 'give' to your partner, it is best to take turns. I have a couple of 'tricks' when it comes to that kind of thing!
Anywho, Valentine and my birthday are two days where the best thing I can get is left alone.
I think you are my twin...
