Going to the past again

why won't Blogger allow me to upload a video to my blog?

I have a few from the Texas Trip that I wanted to share with you...DANG IT!!!

I have been cooking sauce and meatballs for the past 2 days...well, the sauce anyway. Meatballs just went in today. and the house smells freaking amazing!

I remember when I was little, and my mom would make Italian Wedding Soup. I would help her chop the celery and the carrots and the onions...and it would take days to make...and it smelled so good. You just KNEW it would be the best soup ever. and then she should make the bread that goes in it...man do I ever miss her Wedding Soup. I remember how she made it, but I've never tried to make it myself. I'm afraid that it just wouldn't be the same, ya know?

and can you believe it's SIXTY TWO here today??? IN MARCH!!! I'm sorta lovin Ohio right now, I gotta admit. but my yard? OMG...the snow has melted and you can tell that I have two big Labs...cuz the yard is a MESS! eewwww....and I just cannot make myself get out there and clean it up...so I'll save that for the boys later when they get home. ;)

So tell me what your favorite food memory as a child is....who made it? what does it make you think of?

My mom's beef stroganoff and my grandmother's dressing on Thanksgiving. Neither I fix as well. I wish they were here to show me.

Waking up to the smells of turkey on Thanksgiving are my favorite food memories.

Also, there was a fancy all-you-can-eat buffet in PA when I was a kid, and we would get dressed up and go there once a year or so. For a little fat kid, it was HEAVEN. I can still picture the guy at the Carving Station slicing off pieces of ham and turkey.

Great, now I'm hungry...

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Strawberry jello mixed & set with vanilla ice cream in fancy dessert dishes.
Made & served with love by my Mom. :)

Hmm... that's a hard one, maybe the stew chicken with the rice and peas and macaroni cheese pie... or the curry chicked and ground food (yam, dumplings, pumpkin and such...)

jeez, now I'm hungry.

Mine is pretty simple. All us kids would go out and play in the snow in Utah. We'd come back in, and our grandmother would have made tuna fish sandwiches, tomato soup and hot chocolate. It never failed to warm us up. And the fact that grandma made it was the best. :-)
Okay, now you made me cry thinking about my grandma. It's all good tho!

my favorite memory of food/baking is of my grammie baking homeade sugar donuts, they were sooo good and yummy we'd spend the afternoon making them and I loved to watch them in the fryer...those were good times and great memories! funny how it never does taste the same isn't it?
