HELP!!!

Well............

planning another graduation party.

and I need HELP!

I am burned out from these things...I have waited till the last minute to do anything with Evan's party.

I feel bad.

with Stephen's and Rae's, everything was DONE by now.

I haven't done ONE photo board yet....planned the menu...gotten decorations...nothing.

So I need some help from ya'll.

We are planning on probably 150-200 people.

I need menu ideas.

Evan wanted POTATO SOUP ...so that tells you where his head is.

I gotta keep the cost down so nothing too expensive. We did ribs and potato wedges for Stephen, with a veggie salad and bread and cake and all that stuff. But Evan doesn't like ribs, so that's out. Rae had chicken, mac&cheese...stuff like that. that might work for Evan....hmmmm

and I need some ideas for decorations for the tables...I can always do the boring balloons but I want something original, ya know?

I have LOTS of pictures, so that's covered. took me about 5 hours yesterday to go through all the ones I have on the computer and put them all in their own folder so I can just print them out. he's got lots of medals and crap to put out on his tables....

colors are red, gray and black.

All ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!!

For the most recent...

Our colors are yellow and green. I filled glass cylinders (really cheap at Micheal's) with those plastic chips in those colors in layers and then filled them with yellow roses.

I guess you could do black river rock, red marbles and red roses with a silver ribbon.

I had a huge balloon bunch on the front steps so he saw it when he got home that day.

We gave him stuff from the college he was planning to attend - a pen that played the fight song, decorated flip flops, all sorts of silly going to college stuff.

Food... potato skins with cheese?

I'm sending you a couple of easy, cheap recipes for party food.

We were just at a graduation party where the mom decorated tables according to the years of her daughter's school career. There was a table for each year (some were combined) with a school picture and some of her work from the year. It was so cute! But also, a lot of work to put together.

Maybe you could just wrap some small boxes in red/gray/black paper, cut a hole in the top and lay out small pieces of paper and pens. Everyone could write messages, advice, wishes etc for him? That would be decorative and give people something to do.

Wish I was closer, I'd come help out with all this stuff!

I don't know if Evan likes Tacos/Mexican, but it's cheap as hell to do a big "Taco Bar" where everyone could make their own. Just put out all the ingredients (ground beef and maybe pulled pork or chicken along with all the other crap - chopped tomatoes and onions, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, etc). And you can do rice, beans and salad for side dishes.

It's WAY casual but it's fun and everyone gets what they want.

You could even theme the whole event as "Evan's Graduation Fiesta" and decorate accordingly.

Listen to your Events Manager Tranny ...

Glad I could be of service!

Go to the Dollar Store/Party Store to see if they have any reduced-price Cinco de Mayo decorations.

I SOOOOOOOO wish I was there to help! I am PRAYING that I get the apartment I'm supposed to look at tomorrow. Pray for me also...

XOXOXOXOXO

Hey there - my sis did a photo slide show for my nephew's grad last year - it was on a continuous loop in the garage and inside the house - You've probably got most of your stuff digital now and for the stuff you don't -enlist someone to scan or take to Walgreens, etc. for help. The slide show was very cool and everyone enjoyed watching it over and over! Hope that helps!!

Decorations at my sis's party? Flower pots on the tables - everyone got to take a plant home - kinda cool to plant flowers and think of my nephew all summer long.

Good luck girl!

i like the fiesta idea!

we did that for my dad's 60th,i don't suggest a piniata with booze involved...he accidently knocked out my cousin trying to bat that bad boy.

taco bar is easy, make a big batch of meat , maybe chili, some side salads. that way you're not in the kitchen the whole time! oh and did someone say margaritas and guac??

I was going to suggest Mexican fiesta foods, or pastas.
You can do both on the cheap!

photofetti.com will make confetti out of pictures, you can decorate and use pics of him growing up on them. sprinkle them around on the tables.
