I'm home with a "new" car!!

Evan had a HUGE smile on his face when I pulled in the drive...and then he sat in the car for about an hour....sitting,..listening to the radio...learning where everything is. He's happy which makes me VERY happy! Good to see a smile on his face.

I was only gone 2 days but it feels like forever. the dog hair was ROLLING across the kitchen floor like tumbleweed. gross.

But I loved seeing Rae and Mike. They're moving to Fayettville today, to be closer to his new job. Rae got a job teaching 3rd grade there and will get into her classroom on Monday. It's an international school, so she'll be teaching Africa...everything they do is centered around Africa...music class, art class.....and they get skyped in to a classroom in Africa too. So cool. Wish we had something like that here in PoDunkVille.

And it was a long drive home, let me tell ya. I don't know how "traveling salesmen" do it! driving all the time. UGH. But the car did great and it goes fast....I had to try it out, of course. Once I hit Ohio, it was 85 the whole way home! and I only saw 2 cops the whole way...that is, until I got into Ohio...then I saw Troopers everywhere. Damn troopers. :)

But I came home to a very very sad situation. My dog Trooper is ready. He's almost 14....can hardly walk...and he's ready. he looks at me like, "you gotta let me go now...I'm in pain and Im ready". But how do I get ready to be without him? I don't want to see him suffer, Lord knows that....but I love that dog so much. He's my best friend and I love him beyond measure. It's hard to think of coming home and not seeing his goofy face to greet me. But I think he's finally ready and I have to get ready too. So I think come Tuesday, he will be going to the vet. I have a friend who could come to the house and do it for me...but then I'd have to bury him, and hubs won't let me do that...."some animal will dig him up" bullcrap he's spouting. he hardly wags his tail anymore......Trooper not my husband. :)

Thanks for the advice I get from all of you....I put something out there and I always get such good feedback. Thank you!!! I heart all of you!

LOVE the blog layout.

So sorry about Trooper. It's always hard to have to put them down. My Jake was a chow/lab mix, and he was 15 when we finally had to put him down. He wasn't in pain, that we could tell, but he couldn't walk anymore. He'd been shot when he was a year old, and it finally took it's toll. :( Still makes me sad...

Just spend a lot of time with him until Tuesday. Give him a big ol' hug from his internet friends.

I am so so sad to hear about Trooper. I can offer no wise words. The time never seems right....

Hugs to all of you.

The kind of loyalty and love that Trooper has given you simply can't be replaced. Maybe that is another lessons pets teach, because we should love one another the way that they love us.

Glad that you like your new ride. Fayetville... Carolina? I used to box on Ft. Bragg back in the long time ago.

Oh, I so know where you are at now. I miss my girls so much every day. I still call to them when I get home - I figure they are hanging out as ghosties until the new puppies arrive (mid-Sept).

Hangeth in there

aw Beth. this is tough. my Dad put down my dog before her time because she was having really bad anxiety and pills just made her a zombie.it was an awful decision and it was heartbreaking but not as heartbreaking as seeing anything suffer to keep US happy.

love you girl, hugs!

You in a new car! Oh Lord watch out now everybody! And it is always hard with a pet, but I hate to see them suffer. My vet friend, said they are usually in a real pain so it is better! I don't even like to think about it.

I had to put down my cat last year. 14 years old. I've had her more than half my life. I didn't think I could do it, but I couldn't watch her suffer anymore either. It's hard I feel ya there. My close friend is a vet tech and said it's best to be in the room with your pet when they are put down...it is easier on the pet because they look for their family when they are alone.
