I am being a Scrooge.

I really do not like the holidays.

I kinda just want them to be over with already.

I'm trying, I really am....

I'm baking....Im decorating....I have "christmas tree" candles burning...

blah. blah. blah.

It's the "family" thing...and all that.

I guess I need a "new attitude".

So...

what store do I go to, to get me one of those?

:)

I have a couple of different answers for you on this...not sure if you want all of them or not! Soooo, I will just say go to Feldman's to get the change in attitude that comes in the form of a bottle of Bacardi!! (Feldman's is the name of the chain of liquor stores here) Serioulsy, I don't know how you people up north have any holiday cheer when you are snowed in and frozen!! Is it too early for hot toddies???

a hot toddy/toddie is hot tea, lemo juice, honey and bourbon..gets you all warm from your throat down to your toes..my aunt Mildred used to think they cure anything, hoysical or emotional. I remember being 11 or so and faking a cough durning the middle of the summer just to get her to fix me one! Of course around ths time of year I would opt for a spiked apple cider..yummers.. I got rid of my holiday bad mood blahs right around the time I got rid of my husband..I think the people you surround yourself with greatly influence the holiday mood, come visit me and I will have you singing and dancing for at least the next 12days!!

I wish I did not share some of your darker emotions so I could leave hopeful comments. But as with others posts, with this one I can't.

In my empty as heck apartment, I made break-N-bake cookies and drank Coke for turkey day and LOVED IT. Will love it on X-Mas and add a $12 pizza from Pizza Hut and you will have my New Year's.

I will get calls from my girl's and that will be that!!

Maybe being around your son's and being able to share their vibe will help, I don't know. I would say you partner could chip in, since he knows you better than anyone out here.

A personal aside: Do you know what bother's me? When a person say that they aren't into holidays and then when you display the apathy that you know resides in you, they are disappointed that you did not come up with SOMETHING. There is a special someone who is a New Year's baby and claim to be non-plussed about their B-day and the holiday in general. I DON'T CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY... the only time I would have a party is when I would have KT over the summer (she is a Leo). I HOPE that when the run-up after X-mas to New Year's begins, I don't feel the pressure do come up with something...

Hang in... I mean if you don't, you will get thrown off the damn thing!!

My mantra during the fall is
after Halloween...
after Thanksgiving...
after Christmas...
Everything is on hold until I survive the holiday workload.
Luckily the troops and relatives are all low key...
