What songs touch you most?
Is there a special song, that when you hear it, takes you right back to the first time you heard it? or takes you back to a special time in your life, that you always want to remember?
Here are some of mine:

"Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus
I know!!! Crazy, huh? But it reminds me of California
"I can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitte
just because it is so heart wrenching and we've all been there, right?, at one time or another
"Can You Stop the Rain" by Jeffery Osbourne

this just reminds me of high school and Bina and going out dancing every weekend!

There are so so many more, my mind is just mush right now. My ADD is kicking in!! ;)
Sometimes it's a good thing to hear a song and be transported back in time.
and sometimes its not.

American Pie- I lost my virginity to it & it's a loooooonnng song!
Delta Dawn- apparently I used to belt it out as a child and my family has never let me forget it
David Allen Coe's, "You never called me by my name"- all 3 of my kids still call from whatever bar they are at at 1 am to let me here the band sing it. Usually around the verse, " I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison.."
and Harper Valley PTA...it's just always been a favorite!
I sure as hell wish you were coming to NYC, we could drink and sing the nights away! I really do understand, I am just sad :(
The events of the last year or so make "One," by U2, and "Blood of Eden" by Peter Gabriel very relevant.
Beyond that, there are a ton. Every song on Quadrophenia (The Who), "Last Train Home," by Pat Metheny, "Do you Feel Like We Do?," Peter Frampton, "Josie," and "Aja," by Steely Dan.

I forgot to include Peter Frampton, Do you feel like I do...I used to have a terrible crush on him in jr high school.
You know, most of the songs for me like that bring back heart ache memories. However, The Cars, Bruce Springstein, Beach Boys? And of course the two you mentioned. Hearing the Cars reminds me of when you lived by the high school. Wow.
Yes,for the longest time the song by Adele "Someone like you" made me cry so bad!
