Life as we know it

You know how I'm always talking about "getting outta the ghetto"?

Well, I think it's REALLY time to do that.

2 nights ago, my daughter got car jacked.  No, it wasn't in my little town, it was in the town right next to mine....15 mins away.  She was driving to a friend's house at 10pm, alone.  Stops at train tracks, because a train was going by...sitting in her car.  A guy comes up, opens the car door and drags her out of the car.  Being a BULLDOG, she fights the guy!  THATS MY GIRL!  They're fighting on the ground while another guy is going through her car.  She's down on the ground and the guy is standing over her, trying to stab her, and she puts her hand up in a defensive move and he stabs her in the hand.  She is able to get away...crawls back to her car, jumps in, and drives off, hitting one of the guys in the process.

She's ok.  she's bruised and scratched up, but ok.

This could have ended up very very differently.

This could have been a very different post.

I'm thankful that it isn't.

thanks you guys!! Betts is fine...shook up pretty bad. It's really hitting her today, just what could have happened. and the bruises are really coming out now. But that girl is a BULLDOG!!! she won't go down without a fight, that's for sure. No, they haven't found the guys...she really didn't get a good look at them..they were dressed in all black. She drove by there today and saw 2 guys on bikes...when they saw her car, they just kept staring at her. She called me...I told her to call the police girl!!! they were sending a car, but....who knows....lazy cops with big fat bellies don't move too fast. :(

OMG! Glad to hear that she seems OK. Tell her what my mom always tells me -- no matter what time of day it is, first thing you do upon getting into your car is to lock the doors.

Wow, Beth. That passes the scary point. Good for her for defending herself, but holy shnizz, I think I'd be looking to hightail it out of that town too. I hope they catch the bastards and send them to jail for a VERY long time before they hurt someone else. Sending my prayers that she heals and recovers quickly!
