Oscars last night.
I really thought George clooney would win! Of course, I wanted Baby Daddy Brad to win, but really....come on.....he won't win for a movie about stinking baseball. Come on.
Nobody really blew me away with their dress. It was all kind of..."meh". JLo was JLo....Cameron was Cameron....blah blah blah. and the show itself was boring as hell. Goodness! So why did I watch the whole stinking show? Cuz they leave the best awards for last...they know what they're doing.
Bit this morning, Brad Pitt was on The Actor's Studio. Oh baby. I am innnnn lovvvveee! sorry Honey, but I love me some Brad Pitt, and he's #1 on my laminated list! (The Rock is a strong #2). I just love that man! He's cute in a dirty, disheveled way...he's FUNNY. I LIKE funny! oh man.

so im watching the news right now. There has been a school shooting near me, in Chardon, OH. so scary. I remember a few years ago, when a kid went onto our high school campus with a gun, and our school was on lock down. No one got shot, and they got the kid, but knowing your school is on lock down and your kid is IN that school....so scary. I pray for the families of the shooters, cuz they are in for a shit storm.....and the families of the kids who were wounded. Im not sure if there have been any fatalities, but I know shots were fired. And for the state troopers that are there, trying to get order in the chaos. Just like firemen, when something happens, my husband and his men run IN while everyone else is running OUT. Keep them safe Lord.

oatmeal
awwww man...they changed up Blogger???!!!!! who do they think they are? FACEBOOK?????? dayyyummmmmm
I don't think I like it.
onward and upward, I guess.
so I got a recipe from Rae for Baked Oatmeal. Here it is:
1/3 c. butter, melted
2 large eggs
3/4 c brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 c milk
3 c oats (regular or quick cooking)
Grease 1 1/2 qt baking dish and drop in eggs. Beat well. add brown sugar, baking powder, vanilla, spices and salt. whisk in melted butter and milk. stir in oats and mix really well. refrigerate over night. Bake, uncovered @ 350 for 35-45 mins. Serve hot with warm milk poured over.
Let me tell you...THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!!!! you can add chopped apple, nuts, bananas...any kind of fruit you want. It makes a good size pan. It's been sitting out on my counter all day and we've all been picking at it. when it cools, you can slice it just like a breakfast bar. it is YUMMY.

My boys have been sick. some gastro stuff going around and some viral sore throat going around. so the middle boy, Uncle Football, is in college. Very hard to make him a dr's appointment here at home. He's only 45 minutes away but with his class schedule, it gets difficult. Well, I found a Walgreens near him that has a "take care clinic" inside. You see a nurse practitioner. cost me our co-pay and a prescription...didn't have to wait a long time...and it was SO much easier than doing the whole doctor thing. I wish we had one of those near us. :(

I have to go out of town to shoot some senior pictures tomorrow. Im kind of not looking forward to it. Is that bad?

choices
I have been cleaning up at the thrift store lately.
I found a grey wool blazer by Oscar De La Renta for $2. Yes....TWO BUCKS. (ok, so I think it's a man's blazer....it's kinda big on me, but I bought it anyway. I couldn't pass it up!)
I'm gonna belt that sucker and wear it.
I've been really boring in my clothing choices the past couple of years. I used to be "quirky" and "original" and I lost myself in there somewhere. Feeling like I had to be someone I wasn't.
But I'm getting back to myself, so the clothes are following me. :)

I can't believe that my BABY is a senior. In high school. and will graduate in a few short months. Let the crying and endless wailing begin. He's still undecided what he wants to do. Right now, its the Navy. UGH. But he's going to spend the summer with his sister in VA, get a job at the beach and go from there. Im excited for him...to have your whole life ahead of you and the whole world wide open to what you want to do. He's so charming...I could just hug and kiss him all day, but, being a 17 year old boy, he's not too keen on that. But he does tell me he loves me every day. he even texts me from school sometimes...with a joke or a request for dinner. ;) and he always, ALWAYS, says I LOVE YOU MOM.
Ya, I'm pretty crazy about my kids.
I was thinking the other day....when my husband and I started having kids, it was really important to both of us, that I stay home with them. I couldn't have handed my baby over to a daycare provider or a babysitter and gone to work. No offense to women that do...Im not saying that at all. But it was important to us that the main caregiver be a parent. So we sacrificed alot of "things"...alot of material things. So we didn't drive an expensive car or go on cruises....or wear clothes that didn't come from the thrift store! But I think its paid off, in the long run. For our family and our kids, it's worked out for the best. i LIKE my kids. I would want to be their friends, if I was their age. I like who they've become, and Im excited for their future. and I am in NO WAY, knocking working mothers!!!! IN NO WAY.

I'm off to do some shopping for the weekend. Ezra turns ONE this weekend. ONE. Can I emphasize that enough??? ONE. where did the time go? so we are off to VA to spend it with The Emperor. I can't wait to see him!

dreams of children
grand kids spent the night last night.
I hadn't seen them since Christmas and I swear they grew 3 inches!
So Bree grabs my phone and starts taking pictures of Papi sleeping.
And the girl is pretty good! her composition is great...and she only got her finger in a couple of them! ;)
So I think a camera might be coming her way pretty soon.
and Joey said he wants to be a Cop.
And if he's not a cop, he wants to be the Paparazzi and take pictures of famous people. Like MiMi.
*big smile. BIG.*
